Caroline Beach is showing her horror musical “In Darkness Let Me Dwell” at the Akademie Galerie am Hauptmarkt. It consists of videos and live performances. The music alternates between Renaissance music and metal. The play plays with the moment shortly before and after the fall of the guillotine. The musical poses the question: How can we change the state? It shows the power that controls people. The performance is constantly changing and never repeats itself.
Caroline Beach is a versatile artist. She was born in Texas and now lives in Dresden and Berlin. She makes dance, music and performance art. Her art can be seen in many places: in theatres, galleries, festivals, bars and even on the internet or on her own furniture. She likes to collaborate with others. Her art is about relationships between people and things, about logic and about failure. She studied choreography in Dresden and works with the Semperoper Ballett Dresden. She performs with the group Go Plastic.
The open call for music installations is organised jointly with LEONARDO - Centre for Creativity and Innovation, the Nuremberg Institute of Technology, the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts and the Nuremberg Academy of Music.
